On Saturday June 10, 2017, Trojan Technologies’ Founder Hank Vander Laan, helped to plant tree number 3,001 in support of the Veterans Memorial Parkway Community Program (VMPCP).
The VMPCP is a partnership between the City of London, Ontario, the local community and businesses. Trojan is proud to have been one of the founding sponsors of the initiative along with 3M and Starlim.
The goal of the project was to enhance the natural landscape along 10 kilometres of a key gateway into the Forest City (Veterans Memorial Parkway), and to create a long-lasting tribute to our veterans.
More than 3,000 large caliper trees and hundreds of smaller trees and shrubs have been planted since kick-off. Community volunteers did the planting from 2011-2017 (including many groups of Trojan Associates, friends and family).
In 2014, the project took home the Green for Life Community Award from the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association. This award recognizes endeavors that benefit communities through the development and/or maintenance of green spaces.
Trojan is proud to have been an early supporter of eight-year-long project and through its success, remains dedicated to improving the health of our global environment.
