We provide high quality and comprehensive water testing for a wide range of markets
The goal of our microbiology lab is to provide high quality analyses and services to our customers. We support a full range of customers including environmental specialists, consulting engineering firms, and drinking water and wastewater treatment plants across North America. We also provide services to university researchers, research projects, and well-recognized water organizations and agencies. Every year, our microbiology lab receives ~ 1200 samples from municipal, industrial, and residential clients.
Our specialists are able to test a variety of waters to demonstrate the efficacy of UV treatment.

Our microbiology lab capabilities include testing for E. coli, Enterococci, Total and Fecal coliforms. Our methods and procedures for routine testing follow standard methods 9222 and 9223 from Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater.
In addition to microbial analyses, the microbiology lab also has the capability to perform a wide range of water tests to support system operations or as a pre-screen for compliance. These tests include:
How it works for Municipal/Industrial customers:
Our team will send a water sampling kit with sampling and shipping details. Once we receive your sample, we will perform the analyses and then send a water quality report to your Trojan Technologies contact within 3 business days.
How it works for Residential customers:
We will send you a water sample bottle with a Chain of Custody (COC) form. Once we receive your sample, we will perform the analyses and log the results. Your Channel Partner or Water Treatment Influencer will use the results to make recommendations for your equipment.

Our AOP lab conducts water quality analyses for customers so they can establish critical baseline characteristics to understand if UV AOP is the right fit for them. Our team of scientists and researchers have analyzed thousands of water samples from around the world, and our industry-defining UV advanced oxidation systems have been installed at treatment plants from California to Australia, treating an array of contaminants, including 1,4-dioxane, NDMA, MIB and Geosmin.
Every year, the AOP lab performs routine analyses on ~400 samples for AOP applications.
Our routine analyses cover multiple parameters including but not limited to; total iron, total chlorine, free chlorine, H2O2, UVT, nitrate, TOC, pH, alkalinity, and hydroxyl radical scavenging demand. Scavenging demand quantifies the rate of reaction of ·OH with scavenging compounds in water sources (i.e. organics, nitrite, bicarbonate), which is essential for sizing UV systems to ensure efficient pollutant removal.
Sample results are used to determine if UV AOP makes sense for your treatment plant. If it is, we can then design a reliable full-scale UV AOP system unique for every customer, which is backed up by our performance guarantee. At Trojan Technologies, we stand confidently on our science and testing.
