Prepare for the Next Generation of UV Treatment Performance
Trojan Technologies is helping customers transition from TrojanUVSwift® Generation 1 systems to modern UV solutions designed for improved efficiency, enhanced validation, and long-term operational reliability.
As select Gen I components become obsolete or limited in availability, now is the ideal time to evaluate upgrade opportunities that support your facility’s future treatment goals.
How to Know if You Have a Gen I or Gen II
If you aren’t sure if your system is Gen I or Gen II, here is a comparison of the two HMI overview screens.

Why Upgrade from TrojanUVSwift Gen I?
Since the introduction of the original TrojanUVSwift systems in the early 2000s, UV treatment standards and technologies have advanced considerably. Generation 2 systems were redesigned to align with the USEPA Ultraviolet Disinfection Guidance Manual (UVDGM), offering enhanced validation methods, improved controls, and greater operating efficiency.
Upgrading can help facilities:
Improve energy efficiency
Reduce operational and maintenance costs
Enhance treatment control and monitoring
Access modern validation capabilities
Improve long-term parts and service support
Parts That Are No Longer Available
Mercury Relays (Applicable for UVSwift 24 models)
Due to regulatory changes in multiple countries, effective immediately we are no longer able to supply replacement mercury relays.
Part of the power control of the UV system and allow dimming of the UV lamps to operate at lower power levels.
Unfortunately, there are no appropriate replacement options which fit within existing system electrical panels; however relays may still be available in your territory directly from the manufacturer.
Alternatively, a wiring change within the UV power distribution panel can bypass the mercury relays and allow the UV units to operate at 100% power only.

Dosimeter Board (All Gen 1 models) Trojan Part #931058
Installed between the ballasts and the PLC and is used to control the UV lamp power and dose calculations
Part has become obsolete due to the computer chips at the core of control board being replaced by newer technology that is not backward compatible.
This item has no replacement or equivalent part from another manufacturer.
PLC Controllers
Select Siemens Simatic PLC Products used in the first generation UVSwift control power panel (CPP) are no longer available for purchase and with limited support, including the S7-200 series and CPU’s used in the design.
Options For Upgrade
For facilities seeking a straightforward modernization path, TrojanUVSwift Gen II offers significant performance improvements while maintaining a familiar system architecture.
Key Advantages
UVDGM 2006 validated performance
Fixed-dose and log inactivation target operation
Real-time dose calculations using flow, UV intensity, and UVT inputs
1% lamp dimming increments for optimized power consumption
Electronic ballasts for improved energy efficiency
Enhanced chamber and sensor sleeve cleaning systems
Longer lamp life on select models
In many L12 and L24 configurations, the flange-to-flange footprint remains consistent with Gen I systems, helping simplify retrofit installation.

TrojanUVFlex
For facilities planning future expansion or seeking maximum operating efficiency, TrojanUVFlex® provides a highly advanced UV treatment platform.
Key Advantages
Chambers can be manufactured with additional banks to accommodate future treatment capacity
Up to ¼ the required overall power due to high-efficiency low-pressure lamps and state-of- the-art validation
TrojanUV Solo Lamp® Technology (high UV output, low power consumption, low lamp count, long lamp life)
Advanced control system automatically optimizes energy use while ensuring UV dose and treatment objectives are being met

Customer Loyalty Benefits
